JUSTIFICATION: Honestly, I would give it beyond a 10 if I could. It’s well researched with a masterful and colorful plot and a multitude of well developed characters, making it truly a one of a kind. In the end, this book is by far one of the most captivating Dan Brown books, superseding many other popular books that he authored. As with all Dan Brown’s books, it ends in a very satisfying manner, with no loose threads being left. The rest of the book takes its course and ends up proving the fraudulence of the meteorite (hence the name Deception Point) with an unexpected twist. In the most non-spoiler way I can explain it, it’s whole premise revolves around a meteorite, supposedly proving the existence of extraterrestrial life. This novel put me on an everlasting roller coaster ride of action-packed teeth-gritting butt-on-the-edge-of-the-seat thrill. It is for this very reason that I decided to take a break from philosophy and read one of his classic novels: Deception Point.Īuthors aside, however, Deception Point is by no means an exception from Dan Brown’s wondrous writing and does not disappoint, especially for long-time fans like me. He is by far the most qualified author (or at least in my opinion) for this genre of books and is so well versed when it comes to making spine-tingling narratives the premise of his novels are always so well crafted (with the exception of Digital Fortress, but that’s for another time) and so well researched to a point where he not only thrills readers with excitement but also informs them in little bits of interesting facts and trivia. These books just keep me on edge begging for more, and the perfect figurehead for thrillers in suspense is Dan Brown. In fact, I’ve actually been a fan of a specific breed of novels that I’m sure would captivate everyone’s attention: thrillers. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t like a good fictional novel once every while.
